The Winner

"I like to play Southwick because no other golf course represents the heart and soul of North Carolina like Southwick.  The course is emerald green with rolling hills and deeply wooded areas much like North Carolina itself.  Everyone on the course from the staff down to the locals who play regularly are friendly, generous and most of all happy to see new faces on their treasured course. And then there is hole 14.  With the tee box elevated some 70 or more feet high, you look out into one of the greatest and most beautiful holes I have ever had the pleasure of playing.  The powerful Haw river runs hard down the right side of the fairway waiting to swallow any errant tee shot.  As most golfers know to make a course "special" you must have a signature hole.  Number 14 is that hole.  So if you are looking for a great time on a course that is playable for "all" levels of golfers.  Then grab your clubs, bring your friends (don't pack a lunch because you have to try the famous Southwick chili cheese dog) and come play at Southwick.    I can promise you will never want to leave.
