2010 Spring NEWS
In this new year, we are excited about the upcoming golf
season. Junior golf in Alamance County is in for a major facelift.
The word "TOUR" has been eliminated and replaced by "LEAGUE".
Juniors of all ages, boys and girls, regardless of skill level are
invited to participate and compete on teams. Each team will have
its' own coach and players will be drafted by age and skill level
after the registration deadline. Teams will structured as evenly as
possible.
Teams will compete each Monday starting June 21st against other
Alamance County junior golf teams. Players will still compete
individually within their age group each week. However depending
on how individual players finish in each age group, the teams
will receive points towards a team total. At the end of the
season the team with the most points will be declared the "Team
Champion".
Juniors will also earn individual awards in each of the age groups and
genders.
Juniors will also be provided with team shirts, golf caps and the
juniors will be able in this first year to create their own team name.
Coaches will call their own practices that will be convenient for
parents and players. Also, competition will be held on
Monday afternoon at 5:30 pm in order to assist parents work schedules.
