The Alamance County Church Golf League held its' annual organizational meeting this past Tuesday evening.   The new directors of the league announced some exciting changes that will enhance participation in 2008.  The league is slated to begin on Tuesday, May 6th with a practice round.   The changes made for 08 are smaller, more personal teams.   The teams will be composed of two players with two substitutes.  Players will play their own ball and NET scores will determine the team winners.  Team members will not play together in 08.  Players will be paired with like handicap players from other teams.  There will be four(4),  three week quarters this year.   At the end of each quarter a champion will be crowned.   At the end of the season,  these four different church team winners will square-off in match play to determine the regular season championship.   As always,  we will conduct an 18 hole finale' on a Saturday with prizes, awards, food and contests.

If you would like to enter a team for the 2008 season, contact Mark Hopkins at 336-227-2582 or e-mail a team roster to info@SouthwickGolf.com  and please include name, phone number, 18 hole handicap and e-mail address.

Welcome to Southwick Golf

Southwick is an 18 hole public golf course meandering along the scenic banks of the Haw River in the piedmont of North Carolina.  Manicured bent grass greens along with dramatic elevation changes allow for some spectacular views while navigating this Par 70 Cobb layout.  With recent renovations to improve player friendly conditions, Southwick ranks highly as a golf destination that appeals to all levels of playing abilities.

Come, see why golfers treasure this hidden gem of a course.  Over 20,000 purest a year agree that the beauty and challenge of playing Southwick is what entices you to play the course over and over again.
With wall to wall 419 hybrid bermuda fairways, where the lie of the ball is always perched and never has to be improved,  this is a value that can only be met by the high dollar public golf courses.
Experience the Southwick difference today and and become one the trustees of a North Carolina golf secret.
The birdies are calling,  make your tee time today!

Warning, do not be lured into over confidence because of the 6,000 yard course length. "This masterpiece design can yield birdies as quickly as double bogeys"
